This Pontian Lyra is entirely handmade from poplar wood, fingerboard ebony with mother of pearl,pegs ebony,top bridge ebony, tailpiece ebony wood.
A unique instrument and Lifetime masterpiece with ebony mother of pearl fingerboard with unique sense of taping.It has equalizer on the back so you can adjust the volume, bass, tremble.
The glue used is from fish scales and glaze from tree resin ( shellac ) .
It can be used for any level of Pontian Lyra-kemence musicians.

About Papadopoulos Th.Vasileios:
Mr. Vasileios Papadopoulos was born in Greece and he is Pontian Lyra master luthier and teacher of Pontian lyra at Ptolemaida and Siatista Music schools, while performing worldwide.Also is a teacher of Pontian Lyra via Skype teaching it to Australia,US,Germany,France,Canada.(contact me asap for teaching via Skype)
He is owner and founder of Kokkimelon, which is the only qualified Pontian Lyra shop.
The concern for the environment made Mr.Papadopoulos to use more and more water based lacquers which suit even better for the traditional instruments and especially Pontian Lyra . The finish with this kind of lacquers produces open and powerful sound of the instrument.
The spruce and maple wood is from European and Canadian Mountains seasoned naturally for 5-15 years. Exotic wood like mahogany, rosewood, ebony is also used in some cases.Sometimes plum wood is used.
All Mr.Papadopoulos original instruments, have the unique pyroraphy signature at the back as shown at photos
